Loud exhaust

So I have had my '12 Maxima SV Sport package a week. All is great so far but I have noticed during acceleration it's a lot louder than my other 2 Maxima's...yes, it's been very cold here in the Chicago area all week but it just seems louder than any other car I have owned. Is this because of the sport package? would/do the other Maxima models sound different when driving?

Maybe the previous owner made some changes to the original exhaust. As far as I know all maxima's regardless of model come with the same exhaust.

Here in Chicago also. All things stated here r true. Couldve been a previous mod, cold weather could b affecting. My '10 isnt exactly "subtle" when i get on it lately. And from reading and watching vids, cold is clearly a variable with exhaust [engine] noise...

I had the same experience the other night, but then I woke up and realized that it was a dream and that I was driving a Maxima and not a GTR...

So I was at Nissan recently and I was told the reason for the loud acceleration is the CVT transmission, really? even when I'm accelerating at 60/70mph I have to listen to this? it's like it never kicks in to the gear and winds too much.

Can someone fill me in on the benefits of this CVT, if there are any? I would rather have a car kick in to gear and not listen to it wind up constantly....

I think problem is "sound generator" that Nissan installed in our cars.

If your CVT is whining its time for a fluid change. Do this asap and youll notice an immediate difference. Should be done around every 40k imo.

Cvt has many benefits, including overall power band, no gears and less maintenance, better fuel economy.
