K&N drop in. Anything else will make more noise than HP. Just my 2¢.

Apexi drop in. In any test that I've seen across various forums the apexi drop in filter gives you the best performance gains vs aem, k&n, etc..

As for the short ram intakes for our car it's really just sound because when the time gets hot or you're idling for long periods of time you'll more than likely have heat soak

Stock with a drop in of your choice. I went with K&N myself....got it for $10 off with a Pep-Boys coupon & have used them in the past.

If you are just looking for performance then just a drop in. If you want the noise/growl then one of the short ram intakes will be what you want. I went with the Takeda and I love it, very affordable.

Bearing a dead horse, I would say the same. My wife and I both have K&N intakes and love them since these cars are a bit muted compared for their hp. No real gain in hp except in high rpm's in your butt dyno! Can't go wrong with a drop in reusable or a SRI, IMO.

I think proper airflow is key here guys. Ive had two intakes for the 7th gen, the first was the stillen/k&n filter and i had nothing but cel lights with it.

The 2nd was the r2c and i must admit that is an animal. Sound is less than the stillen, but i did notice an increase in acceleration and mpg. I had no issues with it whatsoever.

Now, keep in mind this was when the temps were somewhere between 30-60. I think outside temp is key here when we talk about "cold air intakes".

Now that the temps have increased into the 80's here, youre doing more damage than good with the cai. If you live in Canada or a colder area like the NE, then this is right for you.

But most of us have seen and experienced that with the 7th gen the stock airbox is still the best with a performance drop in of your choice.

This is because the system is still fully enclosed and getting air from the front; top of the ac and radiator. The cais cannot promise the same input. There is no true cai for this car into the fender well like i did on my buddys tc. Outside temp is key along with channeling and wrapped intake tubes into the throttle body.

Can i pick up my engine and turn it clockwise 90 degrees? Lol

Thanks for all of the replys! I thought about doing a short ram for added growl but a drop in sounds like the overall majority?
What are some other good upgrades?

A rear sway bar & a y-pipe are very good mods for our cars....definitely the best bang for the buck. Lowering springs help out both the handling & appearance. If your sticking with the stock wheels, a set of spacers bring out the wheels to sit flush with the sides of the car, this really makes the car have a more aggressive stance. For appearance there's a few....lip or splitter, rear diffuser, & rear roof wing amongst others. Stillen has many of these body mods, many of us went with the eBay roof wing from shadowpeed.

Hahaha I think you posted this to the wrong thread. I've done this before. You're busy playing catchup reading and posting on all of the new threads and by mistake post in the wrong place. Was this meant for the "best/worst mod" thread?
