Factory Stereo/Battery issue
Factory Stereo/Battery issue
I was driving my 2009 Maxima one day and the stereo just goes out. None of the audio controls work and the clock doesn't display. All I get on the Center panel is the AC readings and a dotted line where my stereo display used to be. I assumed it was a blown fuse which I went ahead and replaced. Still, nothing. So I just accepted that I'd just have to takes it to the dealership. I get the next day and go to start my car, dead battery. No biggie, I knew it was time for it to be replaced anyway. I went to O'Reilly's and purchased a new one. A few days later I get up and go outside to start my car, again dead battery. Annoyed, I jump my car (side note the guy that jumped my car made the oberservatiin that "that battery looks a little small for this car), back to O'Reilly's where I purchased the battery. They test the battery, alternator, and the starter, all good.
I get home, annoyed and turn everything off in the car. As I turn to to walk away I notice a faint light in the car, two orange lights on the 6 disc changer where the cd go in at. I couldn't remember if this was always like that or not, but i suspect this is the issue with the battery at least, but if the stereo is dead, why is it drawing power from the battery?
Has anyone dealt with this situation or something like it or able to offer any advice?

That's the first I've heard of this. Maybe some of the other guys can chime in. Did you try searching to see if someone has had this issue. Would be nice to see if someone had the problem & see what they did to rectify it.
As for the battery, yes the factory battery is too small for this car. Nissan now replaces them with a stronger battery.
