How to secure this plastic trim piece?

After going through a somewhat frustrating experience removing the old cabin filter and being able to put the new one in after removing the glove compartment, I realized that I removed this plastic trim piece to give my hands a little more space:

However, now that I've tried to reinstall it, it seems I can't secure the farther end if it (the end that is closer to the engine).

The closer end has 3 clips that snap into 3 holes in the center console:

But the other side, the farther side, i can't get it to clip or secure into anything so it's just kinda loose.

Is this normal? Can you check your passenger side footwell and see if the far end of this plastic trim piece is secured by snapping into the console/firewall or not?

I recently just changed mine as well & it's kinda tricky. It sounds as if you may have snapped the clip on the end or it may have just fallen off. I would check your floor board or where the end is suppose to snap in at. The clip on the end basically just slides in a hole on the cover, so when you remove the cover it can come off pretty easy as mine fell off as soon as I pulled the cover. I just slid it back into the slot on the cover, popped the end in first & then popped the other 3 pins in.

If needed I can get you a pic of what I'm referring to.

Yes could you please post some pics?

I didn't see anything fall off the other end. Do you mean that it's supposed to have a metal clip, like the front end (which has 3 metal clips as you can see in the pics I linked)?

The plastic clip on the end is what I'm referring to.

Yup I definite don't have that. Crap lol. I'll check around that area to see if it fell inside the consol/foot well area.

Yeah I'd defintenly check around that area or it's possible that it may be still stuck inside the hole it goes into since it comes off pretty easy. If not eBay sells those clips pretty cheap in a pack
