2016 Nismo 370Z steering wheel on 7th Gen?

I was looking at at 2016 Nismo 370Z and the steering wheel layout looks very similar to the 7th gen Maxima wheel. It almost appears that it will bolt on, and the airbag and horn fit fit directly on this wheel. I don't know if anyone else has tried it yet, but it looks close. Has anyone else tried the swap or considered it?

I have to ask....why would anyone want to do this? Aside from the "Z" logo in the center and the strip of red at the top, this wheel looks identical to the one in the Maxima already. Why swap like-for-like?

I was wondering the same thing. It'll look cool but not sure.

OP, it could probably be done quite easily but I don't know if it would improve things

For the purpose of doing something different and unique? Isn't that what car modding is all about?

I would not put the "Z" logo'd airbag and horn in, it may not even work plus it'd be stupid with the logo on there. From what it appears, the Maxima airbag/horn should fit, but who knows that's why I asked.

It's not the same, it's alcantara/leather, looks nicer, and it has a sportier feel to it.

Ah ok, didn't notice the difference in leather from the picture

I had to look closer at the pic to see the differences in the leather. Other than that and the logo they look identical. I would bet it's a direct fit between the Maxima and the 370Z.

You could probably go to a high end upholstery shop and have the alcantara leather put on. This will save you time/money replacing the whole steering wheel.

I would consider the 2016 steering wheel if I knew it would be an easy swap.
