Car pulls to left
Hello,
i have a 2012 Nissan Maxima. The car is pulling very hard to the left when driving 50+ mph. I purchased new tires last year and have them rotated regularly. I took it to the shop and they said I needed to replace the front strut mount or engine mount. I did at the tune of $180. I get the car back and there is no change. Still pulling. I called back and they suggested that I replace other mounts. Just seems ridiculous to pay more money if it's not gonna fix the problem. I have no vibrations or rattling. Steering wheel is very tight and sometimes car is hard to control on the highway if you hit a bump. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank You
Jenn

i would assume the company where I took it would have looked at that. Brakes don't feel bad and car is stopping properly.

Your left front tire could be bad in that a belt could have shifted. To rule this out temporarily shift your left tire to the right front and drive. If the tracking shifts to the right then the tire is bad. If it does not track to the right, does it still track left? If yes then I would go for a road force alignment before replacing anymore suspension parts.

Nope. I purchased new tires three alignments I knew amount for the engine and it still doing the same thing. I even took it to the Nissan dealership and they couldn't figure it out either. It makes it hard to drive on the interstate. It's like you're driving in a very windy day! Please let me know if she figures out the text. Thank you

It should have said new tires, 3 different alignments and a new motor mount. Nothing fixed the problem! I give up!

Whatever it is has to be due to friction and that friction has to be producing a heat buildup somewhere. At this point I might get a laser infrared thermometer ($12-$20 on Amazon). Drive 15-20 miles on the interstate then pull over in a parking lot and start comparing left to right temp readings for tires, rotors, and axle ends. Front and back. I think our wheels have a removable centerpiece that might provide a line of sight to the axle ends. When I was pulling a big boat I’d always feel the hubs when I stopped to fill up to make sure the bearings weren’t hot. Nothing like having a wheel come off your trailer at 70 mph. Might help narrow down your problem quickly.

I noticed you said it was aligned...but was it 4 wheel alignment or just front wheel? How did the old tires look? Any abnormal wear? Did you take Richard66's advice and get a road force alignment. I have seen this happen when a car has been rear ended or the axle shifted. Granted, I haven't seen it on a 7th gen yet but it certainly aint normal!

Inspect lower control arm bushings, if you have a ripped compliance bushing, you could have extra play letting the wheel pull to the left.
Also, inspect front tires for abnormal wear, though you said tires are new, but did the old ones have uneven wear?
Finally inspect the size of front brake pads. If one of the calipers is sticking, then the pads would have much less material than the other side.

Solved
Hey guys figured it out a year later. I had a bent rim. $175 later the problem is fixed! I’m so angry that none of the places that I took it could diagothat especially since I also purchased new tires. Thank you all for your support!
