After market spoiler - how to wire to third brake light or brakes
Hi guys,
new to to this forum. I have 2014 Nissan Maxima SV, I just installed after market spoiler, physical spoiler install looks good. But I am unsure how to connect the LED brake light. It comes with a red/black cable, but since I don’t have a harness or nothing apparent to connect it to. Does any one know how to connect it to the third brake light or brakes? There does not appear to be a harness or anything to connect the two light to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Use a voltmeter, tap the ground end (usually the black gator jaw) to the fattest wire, (the fat wire is usually ground wire). Then get someone to turn on car and step on the brake as you use the red wire of voltmeter and test each of the skinny wires to see which one has power. The wire which responds to braking will be your lead wire to tap for the red wire to your spoiler. Then tap the fat wire of brake light harness to the black wire of your spoiler and you are all done. Good luck buddy.

Thanks Godfather. I did not get your post until now. I previously had a tow hitch and connector installed. I tapped into the connector's brake and ground wire and it works perfect. Again, i appreciate the input.
