Frozen Doors

So I have this weird embarrassing issue. I notice that when the temperature drops below 10-12F my drivers side front door won't open. It is actually frozen shut. I have this nice black on black 10 Maxima that I have to open the passenger front door and go across to the drivers seat. I can understand that after a car wash, this may happen (which it does), but this also happens when it is just that cold out. Does anyone know what part or what keeps on freezing that I can't open the door from the inside or outside? Once the car warms up, it's not an issue. I can go in and out of the car with no problems.

important piece of information needed. After you crawl in from the passenger side and sit in the drivers seat can you open the drivers door from the inside?

Maybe the electric locking mechanism for that door is not working when it is cold. Have you tried leaving the car unlocked to see if it is a lock malfunction?

Yeah, as already suggested, clean and treat the seals on that door see if it helps. You may have a tear in the strip, and it has moisture inside of it, so it never really dries out...

Hi,

Had this problem with my old 2003 Maxima. It was a liitle corrosion on a pivot located on the door lock actuator. It is very difficult to lubricate because of it location. I shoot about a liter of lubricants toward the actuator with no success. So I went to the dealer and they remove the actuator and told me that they have to change it but they don't have it in stock. So I told them to clean and lube the mechanism before putting it back. Problem solve.
