Melting tail lights

I know it's weird to ask but I noticed the other day both side tail lights are starting to melt. Can't understand how because LED shouldn't get that hot. I'm confused on what to do other then replace them. I would like to know if this is common on 7th gen. Lights? If I replace them am I looking at having to replace them over and over. I would like some ideas that haven't crossed my mind yet. Thanks in advance

Tail lights have been designed for OEM bulbs. Putting any other type bulb in there invites risk. If you replace the assemblies using the same bulbs the risk is still there. If the melting started after the LED bulbs were installed then that's probably your answer. Is this common on 7th gen? no, as this is the first I've heard of it.
