Anyone tried changing tpms batteries?

I found some videos on YouTube about changing batteries in tpms senders. Looks like some simple soldering and epoxy. Just wondering if any of you have attempted this and if the sensors would need re-registered or just positions re-learned.

I work with a guy who is one of those electronic mutant genius types (builds his own computers and televisions, for example) and I know he tried to rebuild a sensor and gave up after several attempts. If this guy can't do it, my suggestion would be no one can, regardless of what you see on YouTube. And frankly, if you value your time at all, simply BUYING a new sensor or a set of sensors is FAR less expensive than the time and hassle of attempting a pretty-much-futile repair.

Here's the link to the video I watched. It doesn't look too bad, but you may be right!
