Question 0-60 and top speed

So i have a 2010 7th gen Nissan maxima with 167,000 miles on it and its been working great. my dad gave it to me and said its tuned and has more torque. Aside from what the numbers say i feel i can get a good 0-60 in the low 5 seconds if not high 4 seconds in manual if im shifting right. Is this possible? And im also wanting to put a tuner and cold air intake in it to gain about 60 to 70 horsepower and hopefully and at least around 30 more foot pounds of torque. How much will this help my preformance?

With those miles, I would just drive it and not push it hard....

CAI only 60-70 hp...no way. CAI will get you better then 50% increase, net gain about 145hp. Install it without the filter it will feel like you got nitrous.

The thing is, it can still get at least a good 100,000 more miles out of it. So i just want to make it better.

No you're not low 5 seconds 0-60, no your not going to gain **** with a tuner and an intake.

Ok I will recomend a Y pipe. I'll probably pick one up myself. Jemini and Motordyne make them for our cars.

I hear ya, but you gotta be realistic. If you had this as a second car, and wanted to turn it into a track car for the weekend fun, that's one thing. But I get the impression this is your daily driver, and you are not looking for a future car payment right now. Thing is, this car's bluebook is retail under $4000, and tradin only around $1500 if you were lucky. Point being, if you pour money into it, for cosmetic or "performance", it's a wasted venture. Save the money for when you need real repair work, like a battery, tires, wheel bearing, plugs, transmission fluid swap, brake relining...but have a plan to eventually get out of it, in that once a repair exceeds a certain threshold, you just junk the car.

I put some SPOON decals on my Max and it instantly gained 100 hp and 75 lb/ft of torque...had to come down past 197 mph at 9200 rpm...damn, those decals just gotta come off...

Not picking on the o.p. per se but...isn't there ALWAYS someone who gets a car, no matter the brand, and then hops on the nearest forum and essentially posts this exact same thing, i.e. "wanna go faster/have more power/smoke my friend's Acura"...

A car...ANY car...with 167K on the clock is a ticking timebomb...and any sort of 'mod' just lights the fuse at a shorter spot.
