Key stuck in ignition
My daughter removed the fob (battery Dead ) and inserted the key into the ignition slot...
Now it won't come out
Replaced battery in fob and car starts
2010 Maxima
tried wiggling the steering wheel and shifter
Jiggled
No Joy

Damn, it's possible some debris went in with the key, pocket dust, something on the slot it self, either way it's not letting go either because of that, or perhaps the key is not correctly cut, got it in, but a bump in there isn't letting it out. I'm guessing this is the first time you've ever put it in, as you typically don't need to use it except emergency. Wiggling the wheel is the usual fix, but if you've tried that, could be a real problem...sorry I don't have any ideas
Doh ! You must not put the key in the dash slot at the left of the seering wheel. It is for the keyfob to be able to start your car if the keyfob battery is dead.
Try to insert a thin metal tool on the left, right side or both side of the slot and pull the key out
