It's NS2. Not MS-2

The safest way is to do 2 to 3 drain and refills, maybe few days/200-300 miles apart.
CVT transmission holds 10.8 quarts (total). You're only getting 4-5 quarts out each time. Consider replacing the external filter too.
Will be costly, but a dead transmission will cost more.
Beeline Parts have good prices on CVT NS2 Nissan fluid.

What's your mileage? is this the first time you drain the CVT?

With each drain and refill you'll "dilute" the wrong or dirty fluid, with new fresh fluid.
I once got 10 quarts from Beelineparts.com, They ship fast and fluid was legit.

what is the external filter you were talking about does beelineparts have that part on the website.
ok so like for example today, i drain the old bad cvt oil and replace it with 4 1/2 bottles. then each day after that i drain 1 quart and replace a quart?

Here's a pic, courtesy of one of the veterans from this forum:

You drain and refill completely each time, you'll loose good fluid each time, but that's the only way to do it.

so ive managed to change the oil with the right oil and it fixed the whining noises that the cvt was making but after a few days its now its making the noise again, i used 5 bottles of ns2 cvt oil. should i drain out the oil again and put another 4-5 quarts back in or do you think the transmission is done so

Unfortunately I think Imo that CVT is done, Usually the whining noise is an early sign that the CVT is on it's way out. I know someone who's 2012 had a whine that started at high speeds and he too did a drain and fill only for the whine to return and shortly after while driving " on the highway " the car suddenly lost power as the CVT went into limp mode and check engine light came on. He got it towed to Nissan and they confirmed the CVT was done. I believe the want like $3800 or something along that range for a new CVT, Car only had 95,000 miles on it and he opted to trade it in and got something else. Was your car whining before you did the drain and fill with the wrong fluid or did it start after?

Seeing that it wasn't whining before hand means that the fluid you put in contributed to the whining. The manual states you can use equivalents for coolant, brake fluid, and power steering fluid but states to only use genuine Nissan NS2 fluid for the transmission.

Is that your usual launch or just because you're sick of the tranny?

do a total fluid replacement (& use another new external filter too) instead of just another drain and refill. that way, you'll get 90%++ of new fluid and have very little of the old wrong crap left in the system. do by pumping in new clean proper fluid into the external filter inlet at the same time (and at same rate) as your drain it from the cvt fluid return line from the cvt cooler portion of the radiator. I left a write up of it either here or over at 2nd gen Murano.org. drain & refill pan before doing the fluid exchange part. you'll need ~ 11 quarts (you may be able to get by with just 10 and 12 will certainly be more than enough).
