Put on Conti DWS-06's What an improvement!

My 2014 Maxima came with a new set of Goodyear eagle rs-a's, when I bought it a few months ago.
I never like them. They lost traction, accelerating, whenever it rained, & the tears always felt loose too.
Saturday, I had a full set of Continental dws-06's put on.
All I can say is, "What a difference!"!
Now, for the shocks, struts & eibachs...

Yeah the RS-A tires are terrible. Just with tires and shocks this car can drive so much better.

I already have kyb "sport" maxima rear shocks to install. If they are a significant suspension handling benefit, I may forego the eibachs that I was planning. That way, the ride will be pretty much retained & the handling greatly improved.
We'll see....

I've been running the ExtremeContacts before the DWS06 version was available on multiple vehicles, and they’re great. Wait until you drive them in the rain or weather! That’s honestly why we buy them.

That said, they don’t last long, especially if driven aggressively. I’ve just recently switched to the PureContacts for just that reason. They’re not as grippy, but the tread life is supposed to be significantly better and the weather handling is the same.

If tread life doesn’t bother you, I don’t think there’s a better all season tire out there at any price.

I 1st put them on my Audi, to replace the pure contacts. I love the improved handling, but especially the wet traction characteristics. &, they still ride pretty well too!
So, for their shorted life(even with the treadwear rating of 500), the wet & dry handling improvements are a keeper for me!

The ExtremeContact DWS06 are the best wet tire I’ve ever driven, we agree it seems. They’re outstanding. The Pure Contacts aren’t quite as good but still excellent imho. My one and only complaint with the DWS06 was buying new tires every two years.

To "budget" the buying a set every two years, I buy a new pair each year for the front. Then, my two best remaining tread depths go on the back after rebalancing. Further, I save the one "best" remaining as an uncounted "spare", "just in case...".
I started this routine about 6yrs ago on my solara coupe & it works well for me(as alone as they don't discontinue that model tire).
This way, I've got a fresh set of threads on the front wheels going into each winter.
Works for me!

Got mine today

I was shocked at the INSTANT difference noticed. Steering wheel got "softer" when turning, ride feels more luxurious, but not like there's body roll or anything. The OE tires that came off were Goodyear Eagle at almost 79K miles on these 19s though, still didn't expect such a different feel.

Looking forward to riding a few miles on it and getting on the interstate
