Tranny Fluid Issues
So I have a 2014 Maxima S, with a little less than 90k miles on it. Well I went to check the trans fluid, and it was warmed up. After the 15-18 minutes warm up period, i took the stick out and first, it was low, the second and major issue i found wad that there was a gunk, almost like a slime coming up on the end of the dipstick. I have no clue why there is this slime like material coming out, when it should just be a liquid. Based on feedback from you guys will help determine what I do from here. Thanks in advance and I hope everyone is staying safe.
Based on the info you provided, I would buy 5 qts of NS-2 Nissan CVT fluid and do a drain and fill. Careful not to overfill as it won't take 5 qts to get to the full mark. I would also change the CVT filter (Nissan # 31726 - 1XEOA) mounted behind the drivers front wheel. Has the fluid ever been changed? badly overdue if not. What color was the fluid on the dip stick?

Based on the "slime" comment you may want to drop the pan and clean it all up. This kit https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Nissa...s%2C177&sr=8-7 has the filter, the gasket, NS-2 and replacement bolts (be sure not to over tighten)
Also forgot to mention when I do this, I will be adding a Mishimoto cooler to help with the whine and overall heatsoak
I ceratainly dont recommend brake cleaner on the valve body or any internals beyond the pan and perhaps if you remove it, the screen. The filter, Richard66 references is actually on the return line from the existing cooler, so keep that in mind when replacing the cooler.
CVT fluid certainly shouldn't be black, that means it's burnt, normal color is greenish yellow (and clear), and would be beneficial to drain and refill to proper level (drive for half an hour to get to operating temp, or else you'll not get a proper level), level on warm up should be in middle of crosshatched area.
Use NS2 Nissan fluid, and change the filter too.
For more thorough job, drop the pan and clean it too (especially the magnets).
