Serious rattle and miss on startup

Hi Hive mind of Maximas,
Twice this week I have started my max and it sounds like I have pots and pans under the hood and a miss. Its repeatable after 2+ days of sitting. My plan is, once its not 20 in the morning, is to change oil and filter, debating if I should get a quart of marvel in it too. Or get a full oil flush at Valvoline. I also have ticking during low speed acceleration.
Or should I punt?

What's your engine oil and filter? And how many miles on your Maxima?

Castrol edge 5w-40 Mobil filter and 138K miles on the odometer. Been running synthetic 5w-30 Mobil1 for 100k miles.

Got 1000 miles before the next scheduled oil change so I put a quart of marvel mystery oil in it as I putt around town. The missing was worrying, The clatter is a known but expensive repair in the timing chain tensioner.

Its hard to know when it is going to occur since I started treating it, I will try to turn my camera on when I crank it up.

If it doesnt occur when starting daily, but gets worse after 2 or more days, I would look at replacing the filter
. The anti-flow back valve in the filter may be weak causing dry(er) start ups.

I use the mobil 1 filter but sure oem or wix are fine too. Any filter could experience this issue but the better the quality filter, the less chance of it happening.

Marvel mystery oil is quieting the ticking I also posted about. Cold starts are quieter. So far...

I use M1 0w40 and engine is much quieter than any 5w30 I ever used. Even in 20s weather. I trust Nissan oil filters (I use the long version) more than aftermarket ones (including M1 or Fram Ultra).
