Almost stalled while driving

2010 Maxima - Had just filled up on gas for a long trip. Pulled out of the gas station onto the main road (small hill). Once my car was on the road it started stalling, lost control of everything and I thought it was just going to die and within 1-2 seconds it just came back up. I drove around for another 10-15 minutes just to see if it would do it again but nothing. Even parked and started it back up with no issues and drove around again for another 5-10 minutes. Eventually took it home and just drove wife's car instead. I will be taking it in to get checked out. A little history here I did have the alternator replaced about a year and a half ago. Haven't put very many miles on the car since then as I'm mostly working from home now. When my alternator died it was a similar experience however when that happened the car became very sluggish and then died and would not start up again at all. This seems a little different although still electrical related I guess.

Any thoughts on what this could be?

Thanks

I would think its electrical. If the battery is over three years old, replace it, and make sure its fully charged. A weak battery gives these cars fits. You would be wise to have the alternator load tested also.

First thing I would do is make sure the battery terminal connections are clean and secure.

Bang on, but since the car is 11 years old, go one step further and pull the battery out and ensure the negative cable's contact to the body is also clean and secure.

Stalling issues could also mean problems with the Mass Air Flow sensor, camshaft position sensors, or crankshaft position sensor. I would check those 3 areas if your stalling problems persist.
