Putting on some Infiniti wheels, need new TPMS?

Just got my hands on some g37 IPL wheels, gonna put them on the max. Do the TPMS sensors need to be replaced or reprogrammed in any way or should the car just pick them up (assuming they're in working order)?

Yes and Yes if the tpms sensors are correct and good, they will need to be "programmed" or "paired" to the vehicle. If not, you will need to replace the sensors and then have them "paired" to the vehicle.

Thanks. Is there a DIY pairing procedure or is that a job for the shop?

Also how's your Max doing? Still going strong?

There is a process involving resetting the tpms with shorting a white wire under the dash, putting specific pressures in each tire and driving a few miles over 40mph. It is a pia but i did it a couple of times.

Yes my 09 is still going strong but has only 455,000 as covid had us working from home for the past few years. I should have been on my 9th gen by now (if they were to offer such a thing) as I only planned to keep her until 500,000 miles. But soon we get to return to office so my mileage should pick back up. Matter of fact, my tpms warning came on early this month so I need to get new batteries or sensors installed myself.

Oh man....sounds like I have to hotwire the car. I'll check it out though, up for a challenge.

Gotcha. I'll be interested to see how much you get for it.

Like me, she has battle scars and wrinkles, so i will probably donate her to a younger generation of enthusiasts to use as an "organ donor." The engine is still strong and her pipes still show no carbon or oil. I did get her some new lipstick a year orvso back. Who knows how far the cvt can go? The interior dash has cracks like my face, and I have some "post nasal drip" on one of the cvt axle seals. (Yeah, i know, easily fixed but am still recovering from back surgery.) But i still have another 43,000 miles before I have to decide.

I can only hope all our members have such a reliable car.

Yes, the "pre-cat" on the bank closest to the radiator replaced maybe 2 years ago. I believe it was throwing p0420 codes occasionally. Tried to get by with just replacing O2 sensors, but alas, it was the cat.

You made it so reliable. You put in the time, planning, work and money. That's why your car is one of a kind. Way to go.
