Im facing a peculiar problem with my nissan maxima. Ive recently had an issue with the transmission due to which ive had it all the parts changed. Post which ive been facing this issue.

when the car is cold and if i let it roll or drive the car at the minimum rpm, i hear this noise as if something is hitting the car underneath and the noise goes away after i drive away or if the car is hot. I do feel the same sound sometimes even when its hot but its very minimal.

Ive taken the car back to the garage where i had it repaired and they have rechecked everything and even opened up the transmission to see if they had missed something and everything seems fine. The car’s transmission feels fine when im driving at normal or high speeds no issues there. Its only this sound that has been bothering me. I am attaching a video and if you listen closely you can hear the (tak tak tak) sound. I do also feel the vibration of this sound on the steering wheel.

any thoughts / advices are much appreciated.

 

I have the same issue. I just made a post about it. It’s like a clunk clunk - clunk clunk noise and it fades away after a minute or so depending on how cold it is. I just replace my transmission as well and I’m already knee deep with money on this car. If you find anything out let me know I’ll do the same.

I’m on my third transmission in 3 months with this car. After driving the car for a few hours it preforms poorly and I think the tranny will go again.
