Another ABS/Traction Control Issue

Just when you think you saw it all.

Over the weekend I got a wild hair and decided to replace a lot of my front-end parts as I noticed a torn outer tie rod end and some small cracks on the control arm. But I guess all the enforced downtime from Covid and then my back surgery made me a bit nostalgic about working on my max. So, I replaced the inner and outer tie rod ends, Control Arm, Sway Bar links, cv axle, hub assembly, camber bolts and Struts. Really, absolutely no real reason to replace it all other than perhaps the outer tie-rod end (I plan on the left side next weekend) other than I couldn't stop buying parts!!!

Well after putting it all back together, on Saturday, I waited until today to drive it and then only to take it for an alignment. I was caught off guard when I saw the traction control and abs lights on. Surely, I remembered to secure the ABS sensor in the hub? May a bad hub bad magnetic toner ring? After all, we all know that just because a part is new, doesn't mean it is good. Nope, none of the above. I have discovered if your alignment is out enough, ABS and Traction control will light up. I don't know HOW FAR out it has to be, but my steering wheel was at approaching the 2 o'clock position driving the 3 miles to the shop for an alignment. Post alignment, no more VDC or ABS lights.

Just thought I would post this personal epiphany and yet another reason for the lights other than low brake fluid levels!
