Head Gasket is Blown
Apparently my head gasket is blown on my 2011. After overheating at higher speeds 60 mph + and from one mechanic who went thru a list of possible issues before declaring it is a blown head gasket. So different from “back in the day” when you new immediately you blew the gasket.
I went to two foreign repair shops in which they both will not replace the gasket as it is an aluminum block. Both also stated a new engine would be better.
So anyone ever been thru this? Any had their head gaskets replaced? Anyone have thoughts on what the mechanics are saying. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Got to start with the basics, did they do a compression and leak down test?

Next, if it's true the gasket is leaking then they don't want to mess with any possible machine work that could be needed. I wouldn't want to rebuild a VQ either. Swapping in a used engine is much more straight forward.
