Dash trim rubber dissolving

BUMP!!!

2010 Maxima Premium.

I wanted to check the connections on the AV, so I thought I would simply pop off the dash, but I discovered that the dash has turned (super) soft, so there is zero chance of doing anything without impacting the rubber (even the pushing with your fingers causes a permanent mark). Area is Mid-Atlantic so interchangeably hot humid and freezing cold. My external button on the trunk also melted and, finally, last year I replaced it.

1. Anyone else experienced this meltdown?
2. Anyone tried replacing the dashboard and have experiences to share?
3. Anyone knows where one can source new dashboard and what the Nissan part number is?
