Leaving the Maxima Family

My fellow Maxima drivers, it's been a pleasure learning from and helping you guys over the past 20+ yrs. I tried to stay in the Nissan family by getting an Infiniti Q50 but the 2024 model felt exactly like my 2010 Maxima and there was nothing new about the car except the model year.

I looked at Kia's, Hyundai's and even Honda's but I eventually settled on the Cadillac CT5-V with the twin turbo and enough options that I'll still be learning about the car for at least the next year. I planned on keeping the Maxima as my hooptie, but 3 people asked me if I was selling.

I said no but having to leave it outside in the elements just didn't feel right. So, I listed all the extra parts I had for it, put a price on them then checked the KBB value and well as the Edmunds value. Figuring in the parts, plus the recent CVT maintenance and other work I did to the car in the last 3 months, I came up with a price of $6000k dollars.

The first guy and his wife test drove it for their son and came back 20 mins later smiling and shook my hand right away. So, my Maxima won't see 250k miles on my watch but may still get there if their son Jason drives it sensibly. One thing for sure, he won't have to do a CVT flush for at least another 50k miles.

Take care all and keep em on the road, MaxGig out.

You have been a great inspiration for me over the years with my numerous Maxima's. I truly wanted to match your mileage numbers with my 2010 but as I had 2 additional cars and a motorcycle vying for attention it would have taken me 2yrs or more just to hit 250k. The Cadillac is very nice and having 360hp plus luxury was a no brainer.
