Vehicle Information Display

Hello,

New here. I have a 2012 Nissan Maxima (9 years come October 24th). It’s my baby, but I digress.

i tried doing some research and I’m sure you all know what’s coming, but the display noted in subject is black. However it doesn’t seem illuminated (been like this for years btw, but it’s more of a luxury so I didn’t get the time for it), so I’m thinking maybe it’s a fuse. I looked at the fuse box and I didn’t see anything called “vehicle Information display” on the fuse chart. Is it named something else, or are there more fuses than what’s located under the hood? I’m not a car guy, nor very handy so I appreciate any help.

If thats not the solution, I may attempt to do the fix involving removing the cluster but as I said I’m not handy. I asked my mechanic about it and it would be an obscene charge.

I appreciate any help!

Here is a thread with the problem and solution that you have.
There is a second fuse panel, in the cabin just above the parking brake, small panel with a finger hole, just pull the panel will release.

Thank you sir! I will have to give this a try probably with my dad he’s far more car savvy. It does actually appear to be a little backlit so it probably wouldn’t be a fuse after all.

Success!

Many months later I fixed said display using the information in the thread you linked and a very handy YouTube video. Thanks good sir, feels like a brand new maxima since that guage has been black for like 7 years. Just wanted to send my appreciation!
