Control Arms Causing Slapping/Clanging Noise

I took my car to an AAMCO and had it confirmed that the control arm pin (the part going to the steering knuckle) was loose and that a loud clang was being made when the car had a "torque change", mainly when going FWD to REV and when slowing down at a stop light. I torqued all three bolts on the control arm, including the crown nut that held in the pinch bolt, to spec. The car continues to make the same sound and it seems to be getting worse.

I recently replaced the stock control arms with a pair of MEVOTECH control arms, part numbers GS301004 and GS301005. When I installed them I had to wrench them down with a tank bar to get the pin in place.
Are there any reported problems with these arms in particular?

I just went and registered because I know you're probably beating your head against the wall like I was. Those control arms you installed are garbage. I put the same ones on and they lasted less than a thousand miles. I went through two sets of tires two struts I put subframe bushings in in the front of the car trying to figure out what the problem was. It was those control arms. You might as well take them off because they're only going to get worse. Also when you put them on you have to wait until the car is on the ground to torque the bolts holding the control arms in. If you torq them with it in the air it will stretch the bushings.

Thank you. I figured that might be the case despite trying my damnedest not to come to that conclusion. Thanks for the tip on torquing the sub-frame bolts as well; I'll do that on the next install. What control arms did you wind up using? Were they aftermarket? I'm trying to avoid spending $600 on OEM parts
