trailer54 That picture is nice you haven't seen the 2015 yet? That thing looks like it will fly on the highway. That's one thing I like about my 6th gen on the highway you just fly past people in the other lane effortlessly.

That is almost hideous. Better looking than the current gen, but holy cow. The "V" grill looks stupid and is representative of lower model Nissans. The huge bilateral bumper scoops are absord. Reminds me if the chrome stick on vents from Autozone. I could only HOPE that's the actual wheel well gap, I bet it actually sits 4x higher.

Word, I hate the U grill- it makes new Nissan grills ugly as sin. I am also not a fan of the sheet metal on the sides of the car. However when it is cascaded over 4 doors, I may change my opinion. Wheels are gayfish too. I just wish it took more cues from the Q50(long, sleek, & low hood)

On the plus side, I love the A, B & C pillar design. It's very GT-R

That's stunning long as it's large enough to compete and bigger than the Altima we're good!

I always thought the 7th gen was easily the best looking Maxima. It's the CVT(and the FWD trying to support nearly 300HP) that kills the car.

The new Maxima needs to have a proper transmission in order to compete with other segment cars(the Maxima should be performance oriented while keeping a sense of luxory). RWD would be ideal as well.

This may be a great car since Infiniti screwed the pouch on the Q50 with the "drive by wire" steering. But then again, Japanese can be quirky and the Maxima will probably become more bloated with a CVT & FWD. Nissan & Infiniti really need to look at what Cadillac, Ford, and Audi have done over the past 5+ years, and copy their methodology for a performance lineup.(sorry but IPL was a joke and Nismo isn't far behind- this is coming from a guy on his 4th Nissan)

Sorry, but the 3rd gen was easily the best looking of all Maximas. Then - 5th gen, 4th gen, 7th, 2nd gen, and 6th, and 1st gen as the least attractive. That 8th gen is looking to be possibly on the least attractive end.

So I am a dealer for Nissan and can tell you that Nissan will be releasing the next gen maxima in 2014 as a 2015 Model and Nissan is taking a true "SPORTS CAR SEDAN" approach. I have seen the car or at least as close to the release as we are going to see and it's pretty sick. I would wait till June of 2014 and you will be very happy you did.

The next Maxima is gonna shock the world I have a feeling. I think with the 7th gen the price,size have played alot of factors in sales. Hopefully the next car will offer much more than the competition that's the goal.

To all you guys downing the looks of the 7 gen, put down the pipe. It's 2013 and the 7 gen is by far the best body of any maxima. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. The 8 gen will be killing it.

Nothing personal about the question. Guy said he was a dealer and it was a simple question about who and where. Speaks to credibility, I would say a dealer who has actually seen the car or photos of real thing does carry some weight.

Perhaps you're the one smoking and why you missed the legitimacy of Ameri's question?

I ran into a friend that works at the plant in Smyrna, TN. He is a fairly knowledgeable dude, high up at the plant. Please, take this info. with a grain of salt though.....he mentioned to me that the 8th generation would be coming out in August 2014, and will look NOTHING like the renderings. He said the car that was shown during the Nissan 360 event, that everyone thinks is the new Maxima and has been making renderings off of, is not the Maxima. It is strictly a concept vehicle that Nissan will be taking design cues from over all of its vehicles. He said the next Maxima was going to look like a modified Q50, with certain cues taken from the concept that was shown at the 360 event. That was all he could say.

I'm not sure what to think, so hopefully, after Detroit, we can get a clearer picture of Nissan's plans for the next gen Maxima. I personally think it will have the bucktooth grill of the concept, the body of the Q50 (curves and such) and taillights like the concept.

They need either Steer-by wire or a Torque Vectoring system. Sorry but if Nissan wants to at least compete with the competition they need new technology ASAP. DAS is a high possibility.

DAS dulls a driver's enjoyment and severely detaches driver from road(yes I test drove it- the car handled fine- but it was a very odd experience). Rear wheel nannies I can deal with, but I guarantee that DAS will be as big a failure as it was with the Q50.
(wake up Nissan- throw that **** on people carriers, not performance related autos)

Next-Generation Nissan Design Language
The Sport Sedan Concept joins a trio of advanced concepts that share signature design aspects that will be adapted to all future Nissans. Along with the Nissan Resonance and Friend-ME concepts that were introduced in 2013, the Sport Sedan Concept shares the new V-Motion front aspect, "floating" roof and boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights.

As demonstrated by the three diverse concepts, these distinctive design cues will be incorporated into a range of body types from sedans to crossovers.

"Our new design direction mirrors the strength, power and capabilities of the engineering and innovation that serves as the foundation of every Nissan vehicle," said Nakamura. "Nissan is a brand for people seeking bold and passionate experiences, and who are willing to make choices outside of traditional boundaries. That's why Nissan is committed to breaking new ground in automotive design, as expressed in the stunning new Sport Sedan Concept."

The exterior of the Sport Sedan Concept is marked by low, wide proportions, with a lowered hoodline and reduced ground clearance compared to traditional sedans – elements that would be right at home in a sports car.

The "V-Motion" movement of the front end flows from the dramatic chromed grille up through the hood. The front of the Sport Sedan Concept also incorporates the large LED boomerang headlights, a deeply scooped front fascia and wide, sloped windshield.

The profile of the vehicle is equally powerful, with its dynamic bodyside lines adding a strong sculptural feel and connecting the wheels and tires – which are pushed out to the four corners.

There is a projection of motion, even when the vehicle is standing still. The Sport Sedan Concept rides on custom 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheels mounted with low-profile 275/30R21 tires.

The distinctive silhouette blends smoothly into the rear design, which is capped by the high deck, large chrome trunk accent and wide, deeply scooped rear fascia. As in the front, the boomerang rear combination lights accentuate the centered feeling and push outward to edges.

The unique "floating" roof adds a sense of openness and lightness in contrast to traditional sedans' heavy cabin appearance.

"The innovative roofline, which is also prevalent on Resonance and Friend-ME, makes it seem as if there are no pillars at all, enhancing the sense of athleticism and sportiness," said Nakamura. "The roofline also contributes to the Sport Sedan Concept's class-leading stance, which balances the look of the substantial lower body and a streamlined cabin."

The final exterior touch is the unique "Strad Amber" paint that was inspired by the craftsmanship and rich finish of noted classic violins – instruments capable of producing vibrant intensity at times and at other times a soft stillness. The elaborate candy color paint finish is achieved through application of an orange-amber topcoat over a base of gold paint, creating a distinctive depth and bespoke richness.

The Sport Sedan Concept's interior also offers cues to future production designs. Premium materials are found throughout, with the use of diamond-shaped graphics on the quilted seats, stitching and panels enhancing the sense of dynamic motion. Rather than traditional flat surfacing, the diamond treatment adds three-dimensionality. The edgy and geometric look was inspired by modern furniture, apparel and accessories. The interior also features high-contrast colors and facet metallic accents. All these aspects finely express Nissan's individual authenticity and modernity.
