theWalkinator - Now that was a 'trip worth taking.' I thoroughly enjoyed watching those Maximas easing down the assembly line. In all my trips to the assembly plant in Smyrna, I was never as close to the assembly line as some of the cameras in that video.

I also enjoyed the test drive in the video that followed, where the tester made it very clear that the interior of this new Maxima is very very special. I spent a lot of time sitting in all four seat positions around a month ago, and, although I have been driving since the 1940s (yes, I'm quite old, but very young at heart), I have never found seating so comfortable. The leather and stitching looked sort of Rolls-Royce to me. And the instrumentation layout is just right. Switches that were not totally convenient in the 7th gen have been moved to more logical positions where they can be operated without taking ones eyes off the road.

I am also excited about the Sport switch. I will be driving out in the country looking for a deserted road to play with this 8th gen.

theWalkinator - Thanks for bringing a really bright spot to my day.

if anyone is interested in how the engine sounds. seems to be the standard cvt sound when flooring it. wonder where the simulated shifting comes into play?
