Hello all. Picking my 2016 SV up in a few days. Dealer is saying 17s will not clear front brake caliper, but has no actual hands on experience. Just reading off a chart. Really do not want to run an 18 inch snow.


Any personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

 

Blasterguy just responded to your email. I went 245/45 R18s. I think the 17s would be too small for this car.

 

Have run 245/45R18 tires on both my 6th and 7th generation Maxima's with very good results. I would be more concerned about tire selection then size.

 

Agree, I's stick with 18 inch WHEELS including the "Rim". One thing though. Get the tire circumference of the original tire and compare that with your winter tires. That could affect things with the computer speed read out etc.

 

Managed to score 4, 18 inch OEM rims with OEM TMPS from a 2012 Maxima. 50 mm offset.


Installed 4 Michelin X-ice 3 245/45/18.

You will love the Michelin X-ices. I installed same set last year on my 7th gen and was very impressed.

 

By too small do you mean they won't fit or they would look silly?

 

Nothing to do with looks. He means they won't fit over the brake/hub assembly. I didn't expect that they would.
