Question New Maxima Owner...wheels are an issue

OK..... brand new to this forum....but not new to forums like this one. I searched through multiple posts as to not bug people with the same questions that are always asked and couldn't find my answer....although I have PM'd a couple folks and responded to some other threads (waiting for responses).

I pick up my 2016 Max Plat white tomorrow. It comes with the 18" wheels that I can't stand. There are a few members on here that have posted pics of after market wheels and tires. I understand the bolt pattern needs to be 5X114.3 and hub bored to 66.1 with reccomended range of +32 to+43 ET.

What I haven't found is tire size / brand folks are reccomending to fill the fender gap and not rub. I am not planning on lowering the car at all. I can't stand how the 18 or 19" rims stock with tires sit back in some. I am looking for them to rest flush with fender when you look at it from front or back..... make sense?

Thanks for any help!

The stance I want is this thread:
https://maxima.org/forums/8th-genera...-platinum.html

Looks like he didn't lower it and put on 19s. Only challenge is I want to know tire size, tire brand, wheels specifics (I know they are 19" verdes)....I want something similar in black. ;-)

245/35/20 is what I run on my aftermarket wheels. 245/40/19 good luck on 19s cheaper to just go 20 and deff have the look your going for.

Looks like you are running: 20x8.5 front & 20x10 rear with 245/35/20 tires. Is that still correct? Do you have rotation issues since you can't go front to back? Would you do it differently if you did again?

Why good luck on 19s?..... are they hard to find?

THANK YOU!! Sorry for the questions, I am a truck guy. My last set of tires bought were 37X13.5R20s lol

If you want the tires to be flush with the fender your new wheels will need a smaller offset.

Do you have rotation issues since you can't go front to back(due to 20X10 in back and 20X8.5 on front) ? Would you do it differently if you did again?

And what is the offset on your wheels?

Stock wheels are 18X8 +50

I am looking at the Verde V27 Saga -which is a 20X8.5 +38. If I am figuring right, I get 12mm/.45 inches out from offset....and another .25 inches going from 8" to 8.5" width. ...for a total push out of 0.7". Would this get it out there, yet not rub

Another option is Advani Bo Bello 20X9 +40.... that gives me 10mm/.4" due to farther set out offset, + 0.5" due to 9" width wheel. This would be more like 0.9" set out from stock...... worried about rubbing.

Only other I have considred at this point is Enkei Perfromance - ONX (Haven't looked at offsets, etc..

Thoughts on moving forward? I will run 245/35/20 on them.

Any help an opinions appreciated.

You might also want to consider the amount of road grime that potentially will be propelled down the side of your vehicle.

I love the staggered look. I have lifetime alignment from Firestone. So while I can't rotate tires the conventional way. I ensure to keep vehicle aligned every 2-3 months. I have mild camber so there is virtually no excessive tire wear. Also aftermarket wheels only stay on for spring/summer. So I get expected life of tire. Also have a shop that will prorate tires when I go to buy new tires so that helps also. Pays to have good relationships with people lol.

My offset is +38 front and +43 rear if memory serves me correct. I will double check when I get home as wheels are in the garage for the winter.

Also for reference you can check my posts to see my wheels with "before and after" lowering (on springs bout to change over to coilovers) for flushness of wheel to wheel well.

Always here to help... Let me know how it goes for you good luck!

240tomax,
Very good point. I have thought about it and dealt with it with all vehicles I have. I have been lucky on chips, etc. and just have to wash more. ;-) My truck has 37X13.5 R 20 on it and I cover mirrors in mud and whatever else is on the road continually....but hey, it looks bad ****.

tc8510,
Thanks for the help. I would love confirmation on offsets. I really like your stance. Looking at several gloss black wheels for my car that will work. I don't have the issue of "winter tires"...... it was 85 degrees here in Jan/Feb. LOL I totalled my 335i, which there was no rotation available on that one.....I ate tires every 15K miles....so I am used to it.

Keep the thoughts coming folks!

Thank you very much!!

I have no plans to lower the vehicle at all (at least at this point) lol.
With that set up, would I have any rubbing at all?

Again...thanks for helping answer my questions.

WOW!! Does anyone know how hard it is to find 20X8.5 + 38 and 20X10 +43 wheels in gloss black?? CRAZY!!

I have found a couple that fit that mold.... V39 Parallax are about as close as I can get. Verde V93 Shift are close....but they are flat black (prefer gloss).

I found Breyton GTS that would look awesome and fit the specs, but nobody around here can even find a vendor to get them.

Anyone got better options?
