Scratches in paint.

Anyone notice little white scratches in your paint. I have only washed the car three times since It has been bought. I even bought a new sponge to keep this from happening. So I bought another sponge. Same deal. Its really irritating since I have only had the car
since December.

Are you using Microfiber to wash or dry? Sometimes I wonder if that could be the cause. Because I went with something softer than that to dry my car it just felt too rough on my hand at the store.

Dirt and debris is what causes the swirl marks. Do you use the 2 bucket with grit guard method? One bucket has soap and water and the other has water. You dunk the sponge in the soap water wash the car after it touches he car dunk it in the water only and agitate the spong with the grit guard. Then you go back to the soap/water bucket and wash the car again. The grit guard helps leave the dirt and debris on the bottom and doesn't go back into the paint to scratch. And try to use a leaf blower to dry the vehicle and use a waffle patterned microfiber towel to dry the rest. I didn't do much research, but a trusted friend who was VERy maticulous with his Audi gave me these detailing items and materials after he got rid of the car and started leasing for financial reasons.

Great tips and it makes sense. I stopped letting my dealer wash the car when I realized they were using the spinning brushes. I use a compressor to help air dry where possible. I notice lots of residual water in the trunk channel and around the rear view mirrors after drying the conventional way.

The problem for me was the side skirts...they hold A LOT of water, had to wipe them down probably a dozen times when I kept opening and closing when I started working on the inside of the vehicle.

...or invest in a pressure washer and a foam cannon, use a leaf blower to dry.

I added a Ceramic coating cost me 1200 but no more waxing for seven years and then only use optimum no rinse wash. Takes me 45 minutes to wash car in the garage now. For someone who never really enjoyed detailing, I love it.

I enjoy the detailing aspect of it. Especially with all the goodies that my friend had given me. Has literally everything I need to clean the car. It's hard for me to get started on cleaning, but when I do, I can't stop. Until a couple of hours later lol

leather masters, another very good choice would be leatherique. Neither give that slippery feel to the leather.
