Maxima S speaker vibration...

It's my only complaint with this car. I can't push the bass anywhere past medium without the speaker vibrating and the stereo isn't even loud.. I isolated it to the trim around the rear brake light...anyone have this issue? I tried shoving cardboard between the gap but it doesn't help...Am i nitpicking?

Well in a previous thread I wrote I took mine in which is a S model as well and the driver door speaker was bad. They had to order it and replace it. Now in all honesty I have pulled out and changed my previous car speakers which was an Altima and I can bet these Maxima speakers are paper thin like those. So really the only way to get rid of vibration is upgrading your speakers which I plan to do an overhaul on the whole audio system in the coming months.

Well maybe it is the speaker that's causing the vibration but I can hold the trim of the brake light and it'll stop. Maybe it's the way they're mounted? No enough dampeners between the speaker and supports?

I am assuming you of course are talking about the third brake light by the speakers. My fault thought you were talking about the outside. Yeah it very well might not be enough support. I would recommend taking it to the dealership and show them what it is doing. They will do their best to take care of it.It is covered and way better than you trying to take it apart and accidentally breaking something. Trust me I have taken my car to the service department a few times speaker, tint, and cabin air noise. So they know my name pretty well and they were told they need to give quality control on these Maximas. I know it is a pain to take it in, but honestly the longer you listen to it like that it is just going to eat you up.

There would be a difference between a blown speaker vs rattling. If you can physically hold the mount around the speakers and it stops, then most likely is a rattling noise around that area. You can try to fix yourself, or bring back to dealer but all this should be covered regardless.
