Not happy Occupant Classification System service. recall
So I took my 2016 Plat. in for it's first oil change today, tires rotated, and the OCS recall for passenger side front seat. All went good except the OCS recall work. It appears they reporgammed the system on it, and messed it up, now the seat-belt light stays on in the center dash display until I actually reach over and plug in the passenger side seat-belt into the latch. The Airbag disabled light on the dash beside the radio never does come on. I immediately took it back to the dealer and told them about this issue and they screwed it up. They told me they did not have time to look at it the rest of the day.
So now I have to make a return trip on Monday and leave the car for the day. Why can't the dealerships at least double check their work before the car leaves the bay?
Sorry to vent, just so frustrated. A new car with 4,700 miles and they have already messed things up.

Now that sucks. I would have left the car and demanded they give me a loaner until they fix their screw up, your time is valuable and they should have to pay for their mistake. My first bad dealership experience started in KCMO with my 2010 Murano and my rocking seat problem. They replaced my seat bottom, (twice) but in the process they gouged my door frame paint down to the metal and didn't fix it after I showed it to them.
From that point on I decided that the moment I noticed that I was getting consistently bad service from the various Nissan dealerships I took my cars to I would stop buying Nissan vehicles. Since then I've got bad service in Missouri, Alabama, California, Florida and at a second location in Kansas. I still have my 2010 Maxima but now my wife drives it and I drive a 2009 F150.

Sounds like I should be very happy with the service I get from my dealer. They always dot the "i's" and cross the "t's" and seem to be totally service driven. They keep you informed and make sure that you are happy with what they have done.
I guess I'm on the lucky side also. Took my car in this morning and used a card I was given for a free oil change and tire rotation and the service manager laughed at me and gave me the card back telling me to use it some other day. Still got my free oil change today. They haven't let me pay for one yet and I get one every 2500 to 3000 miles.

I went from an Infiniti to a Nissan and now my family and I are thinking we should have paid the extra few bucks for a Q50/70. The trips to the Nissan dealer are not very pleasant and they always ask you "are you dropping it off?" I'm like did you see me bring another car or do you think I have time to let you change the oil and come back later on because you have too many appointments to fulfill? I never had any of these issues at the Infiniti dealership and the service people are always nice. They never messed up on any of my services. Plus the free loaner vehicle is nice if you just want to go get something to eat or do while your car is being serviced. At Nissan the "loaner" is $30-$40 a day. In a few months we'll dump the Maxima and go back to Infiniti.

This is from another Nissan Forum:
What they won't tell you about the latest airbag recall is: It is only to change the idiot light to: always on. If there is nobody in your seat it will be lit. It is the MOST ANNOYING thing. Very distracting. I love my car I love my seat. I hate this light. Time to sell and I can't buy another since they say their new policy is "always on" for all vehicles as long is there is less than 110lbs in that seat.
You are really going to be upset when you waste your time on Monday to find that the dealer did the recall correctly...and this is how Nissan designed the "fix". Your dealer did not screw it up.

After the fix, as soon as I raised the seat and sat up, the airbag immediately was 'available' (light off) again. At all times, the red seatbelt warning light on the info screen reflected the true status of the airbag.
This is evidently a tricky 'fix', as I have seen several folks on other sites who have had trouble with it. I am lucky that my dealer has a Nissan electronics expert with twenty years experience, and he loves challenges such as this.

Assuming this is happening with noone in the passenger seat as it sounds, then something did in fact get screwed up during the recall programming... I'm curious to know how that happened as well.

You are correct it is the Seatbelt light staying on, and the airbag light is staying off. I took it back to the dealer this morning, and they told me they did another Maxima later in the day I took mine in, and it did the same thing. At 4:45 pm today the service manager called to tell me that they finally got the issue fixed, but by then it was too late to get there and swap out my loaner. So I will pick it up early in the morning. Hopefully they have it correct now.
Yea I'm a Nissan tech at a dealer in Skokie Illinois and we do those damn recalls all day long and yes they did ur recall right it now makes ur pass side air bag light stay on until some one heavy enough sits on the seat and then the light turns off which I find to be better because we always had these annoying unaware customers who never read owners manuals and would see the light come on and off and wonder why then u get into their car and see they use their front seat to put everything on it. But yea basically they did ur recall correct and they should've printed out a sheet that explains this for the customer it's in or bulletin when we perform it.
Most likely the dealer didn't update their consult 3 to the latest update cause that's what we use for it and if it's not updated to the latest version this can happen also our dealer just got sent a Bosch handheld stand alone to do the update without consult so you just plug to obd connector and follow instruction. A lot easier just takes like 5 more min but doesn't tie up a consult to do something more useful like diag codes for other cars or program keys etc... As this recall applies to every Nissan model except nv. Only pathfinder and nv200 need new ocs control modules and Sentra needs a passenger seat belt bracket maxima Altima murano and rouge just a reprogram
If u take it to a dealer with bad experiences what do u expect.... Especially customers who come in to express lane and expect these lube techs to know everything about ur car on top want ur car diagnosed quickly while u wait

And not only on one car but two cars. I'd find a new place to get my car serviced.
