Wheel Locks

Anyone buy wheel locks for the 2016 Maxima? I want to purchase Gorilla Locks for the OEM rims but amazon is telling me they do not fit the car. I found the thread pattern and it M12 x 1.25 Gorilla locks come in that size. Has anyone tried them?

The lug nuts for the OE wheels are not typical conical lugs. I have Gorilla tuner lugs, but for my after market wheels.

Just spoke to Gorilla locks. They said that there locks will fit just have to verify what type of lug the car takes. He said its either the acorn style or a similar one that has a washer attached. I will verify once I pick up the car!

Acorns will not work for the OE wheels.

Flat seat lug nuts, also referred to as ‘mag’ or ‘shank’ are what you need. Not much out there that i could find aftermarket if you are sticking with stock wheels.

Here is a great Nissan lug nut reference i came across: http://forums.nicoclub.com/important...s-t485133.html

If you find any please let us know

you can also buy them direct from your Nissan dealer:Wheel Locks - Part Number: 999W2JT000

I had my rims stolen off a Honda Accord twice in 3 months! It was ridiculous!

Wow, that's nuts. I guess they can quietly cut through the wheel locks pretty quickly.

I was given wheel locks for the last three vehicles I bought (including my 2016 Maxima) and I've never used them. My cars are garaged now, but I did have someone steal the back window and radio from my pickup years ago while it was sitting in my driveway.

All you need is a 12 point socket and hammer and you can remove the locks just like a regular nut lol

you dont need to cut through wheel locks, there are plenty of ways to take those McGuire type lugs off, especially with proliferation of cordless impacts.
I have gotten rid of those "secure" lugs ever since I shattered one by trying to remove it by hand with a breaker bar.

Just an update.....confirmed that gorilla makes lugs that are called Toyota/ nissan lugs. They have a washer attached to them. Removed the OEM lugs to make sure it matched and verified with gorilla that they are the correct ones. Ordered them and should be here next week. I ordered the system which is 5 locks on each wheel part# 73623T in case you need it!

I found them. Basicallyyou have to order them from Summitracing.com and they place the order directly with gorilla auto and they can't them for you specifically. I ordered the system which is 5 locks for each wheel. It came out to $70 after shipping which is far less than what it cost me to replace the full sets of rims previously so well worth the investment. It's part # 73623T

Looks like that part number is $58.70 shipped with amazon prime, although it claims they do not fit a 2016 Maxima. Weird.

I know it's an old thread but here's some good info on wheel locks and why factory locks aren't great:
