Door unlocking sequence
Door unlocking sequence
If i unlock the driver side with one press of the door button, the passenger door can't be unlocked with the button.
If the passenger door is unlocked first, the driver side can also be unlocked.
I can also unlock all the doors with two pushes of the driver side button.
But I'd like my passenger to be able to unlock their door without having to coordinate our timing.
Is the above evaluation correct? Or am I confused about what it's doing?

I'm sure it's a safety issue. If the passenger door could be opened after you only unlocked your door, a bad guy could get in with you. If the passenger door is opened first, or if you unlock all the doors, it's obviously a move you chose.
I don't know what happens if the passenger has the other fob.

Although my wife and I do not live in downtown Atlanta (we live about an hour south), we only unlock the doors we need at the moment. And when we pull into our garage at night, we do not unlock any door until the garage door is totally down and confirm that nobody snuck into the garage with us. We don't necessarily live in fear, but we darn sure are extremely cautious. It is a very mean world out there. We are always prepared to shoot if necessary, but prefer to simply avoid trouble if possible.
Says a brave gentleman who does NOT live in downtown Atlanta. Carjacking has become a way of life in downtown Atlanta; happens almost every night these days. There have been several cars hijacked in the Atlanta metro area within the past two weeks with babies still in the car.
