Hi all- so I am on my 4th Maxima. All the others were 95-99 Maximas. I had removed the 'tape' that was on the B pillar on the older Maxima. It was super simple- a heat gun/blow dryer and patience. I was wondering if anyone's tried it on this model (it looks to be very similar to what my old Max had). I have pictures attached showing what the original B pillar looked like on my white 97 Maxima, half way done, and when I was finished.

My 2016 Max is storm blue, so I'm sure the effect will be much less, but still- the 'tape' on the 97 Max was fading and looked like crap over the years.

I'm gonna bump this because I'm surprised no one has any feedback/suggestions/desire to attempt this. Is anyone interested?

 

I can confirm that under it is painted the color of the car. I took a 1/4 of it off by mistake when I was removing some vinyl work I had previously done to the car. I thought it was part of the work I had done but realized it wasnt. It came off with a little more resistance than the other vinyl but still came off none the less
