Fog Light Replacement

Anybody replace the fog light bulbs? If so, what did you use? I can't stand the way they don't match in brightness/whiteness to my headlights.

Thanks

This is a great reputable site for Maxima after market lights a lot of people have been using with reviews on most items as well.

JSROOKS is correct, Diode is the best way to go! I have the H11 XML2 LED's and absolutely LOVE them. I went with the 6k and they match perfectly. You will need 2 sets and it does get pricey but you get what you pay for, and with DD, you get quality.

Thanks.

How bright are they compared to the headlights of the SR?

What's the difference between those and the HP48?

Top pic shows stock fog light on passenger side and DD 6k on driver. Bottom pic has DD 6k in both.

Pics dont do them justice, these things are hella bright! At night when I turn the fogs off and on, there is a huge area that you really dont realize is lit up until you turn them off.

Thanks
I replaced mine with the philips led h11. They weren't cheap but got them discounted to $140 a pair from pep boys. They are brighter than my led headlights in my platinum. Color match perfectly. No water issues so far. Knock on wood.

Can I replace the head lights as well as they are very weak (they are yellow)? What are the best options for that in terms of brightness and whiteness and price?

Has anyone decided if they are going to do the LED Switchbacks for the DRLS. I am tempted I am just afraid of doing it and the headlights not sealing properly.

Thanks for the instruction. For the fog light, do I need to buy ballast or any decoder as well or it is only for headlights? Does each side have two fog lights? When I checked Amazon (following link), "https://www.amazon.com/Alla-Lighting-Power-Bright-Replacement/dp/B011480LPA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1477579818&sr=8-2&keywords=maxima+led+fog+lights", it is giving me H10, H11, H16,....
Which one do I need to buy?

When I looked at my car, I see only two lenses one on the right and one on the left. Each lens has a place for one lamp. Please look at following link related to following picture. This is exactly what I have.

I think I have only two sockets for those bulbs.

Thought I would share, in case anyone (like me) is deciding today how to get the best price.

I just bought my XLM2 6000K fog replacements from Diode Dynamics online. These guys are great to work with, and if you act fast you can save a whopping 25% on your order using code:
BLACKFRIDAY

I just did, got my $240 lamps ($120 x 2 sets) for $198 with shipping.

It's not every day that the BEST comes with a deep discount. Jump in!

Cheers

Anyone ever try the kit from Enlight Automotive? Seems decent with a decent price.

The only thing I hate about these design(s) are those hanging things (ballast/adapter).
Check Philips on Amazon they are getting cheaper..for some reason.. may be, they are putting out new product soon.

Clarification question

So it looks like there are no decoders needed for the fogs. I've seen 2 types of fogs, ones listed as replacement bulbs, like the ones recommended in this thread, and the kits, which look essentially identical to the headlight kits (OPT7 offers this type). The cost is VERY different, so if just a simple swap using replacement bulbs from std to LED will suffice, that would be great. So is there a way to cool the LEDs then, similar to the headlight LEDs? If not, do these bulbs burn out more quickly if they are not cooled sufficiently?

Thanks,

Thanks,
OK, i answered my own question. Apparently the ones that are the "kits" require mechanical cooling because of their hi lumen capacity. The others with less brightness only need some heat dissipating design.
