Best options for protecting exterior and interior?

For a new Maxima with plans to purchase and keep for years, would really appreciate recommendations/advice on this. My son bought a Mustang last year and we discovered Ford offered a new product they call "Surfacecare" to protect both exterior and interior. Liked the fact that it was from Ford, not a third party. Was especially interested to get since the Mustang interior was an off-white leather. Covers exterior things like weather-induced fading, hard water etching, bird droppings, acid rain, tree sap, oxidation, road salt and more; and interior things like ultraviolet-induced fading, food and drink stains, oil-based stains, pet stains, blood, crayons and more. Was available in terms of 2 to 7 years. My son went with 7 years, was less than $500. I'm planning to get an '18 Maxima with the cashmere leather interior, so interested in a similar product. But my understanding is Nissan doesn't offer anything like this Ford product. If that's correct, what are the very best third party options? Are there different ones for the interior vs. exterior? Most of the Nissan dealers in my area had absolutely no suggestions. One of them though recommends a product called "ProtectAll." Anyone here every heard of/had experience with? I've read a couple of threads here about products like 3M and Crystal Fusion. Are there others? Which are the very best and why? What are the approximate costs for? Where would I find someone in my area to do -- ideally one place to do both exterior and interior? Much appreciate in advance the help on this topic!

I have pearl white with camel leather SR with 12k miles.

I can advise you on the exterior. I had installer install clear bra from Suntek auto heal on bumper, full hood and fenders for $1000, TX price. This car has been on road trips and is a year older. But when I look at it, it looks like it came out from the showroom.

It's a breeze to maintain these leather, I use warm water and quality microfiber towel . For tough stains, chemical guys leather cleaner. Once a while, I use chemical guys leather conditioner, as I love leather smell..lol..

For interior I wouldn’t suggest any sort of chemical.. if it’s dirty get some microfiber cloth and water. For exterior I hear some people use liquid glass finish . I personally never tried that but I hear good things.

sschumer: I can't resist this topic because I am **** about how my cars look. This is just me but personally I would not buy in on any of the high dealer markup interior or exterior "treatments". I've learned valuable lessons when I was younger. I "show" Vettes and maintain my Maxima like I'm going to show it too. As for interiors, if you have leather seating as we do, follow mfg's instructions. Damp cloth once per month to keep crud from accumulating. Every few months I use leather conditioner/cleaners (inexpensive is fine) 'cause I just like the smell, and I know leather already has a finish that leather creams won't penetrate anyway. But I do condition my ball glove 'cause it has no protective finish. :-) For the dash, doors and center console area I use a product called "303" (even on the leather when I'm really "goin' at it" sometimes). It was developed for marine finishes. It resists ultra violet fading caused by exposure to sunlight. On sunny days I close the sun roofs for the same reason. As for exteriors I "clay bar" all exterior surfaces twice a year. This includes the glass. Claying removes residue that will eventually turn your clear coat and acrylic enamel finishes into fine sandpaper. After claying and a spray polish/wax such as clear synthetic "ICE", by Turtle Wax you will get a deep, deep shine. Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer between Ultimate Quick Waxes (or whatever polish or wax you want to use, makes no real diff. is extremely quick and maintains that shine and very slick finish until I wash the exterior again. Did I mention I alternately apply spray polish and detailer every other wash? My stock wheels get the same treatment, even the barrels behind the spokes. Sometimes my buds will brag about the very expensive "super wax" they buy by the case. When I get tired of hearing about their special waxes I challenge them to a wax-off. Honestly, I burst their bubbles quickly when we do side-to-side comparisons; their expensive waxes to my inexpensive synthetic polishes. For chrome wheels, chrome/plastic trim pieces, tail pipe tips, etc....same treatment. I even clay all that stuff. For the tires I normally use a spray to keep 'em shinin'. Experiment because some of these wipe-on or spray-on treatments will turn light brown after a rain. May be caused by dust adhering to the oils in the spray but I have found sprays that stay put for a few rains and do not turn brown. Oh, I forgot to mention that I am a huge fan of products like 3M film to protect my finishes from road rash. It is a little pricey ($900+ for entire front including headlights, fog lights, hood, fenders and any other places you want to protect). I have 13K on my Max now and most of that is Ohio to Fl and Ohio to Wis turnpike miles. I have a couple of very tiny nicks but only on front grill bar; nowhere else. Love the stuff.

I am not recommending you go out and purchase any product I've noted above, and certainly don't recommend that any of you follow my same cleaning/polishing techniques, but this is just what I do to win at car shows and blow my neighbors away by the way my cars look all the time. Oh, and I even detail all visible parts under the hood too. Apply polishes even! On the rubber hoses I use tire dressing sparingly, spraying the goop on a clean rag then apply. And I'm talking about my Max too! I'm sure you all have your favorite products and routines so let's hear 'em for the noobs that would like to keep these cool rides looking good for a long time.

A tip from my detailing days....for tough leather stains, place a dime-sized dollop of mechanics hand cleaner (I use Gojo or Fast Orange) in a bowl and add about 1/2 cup of warm water. Mix well and use with a microfiber cloth to clean leather. Follow with a simple wet microfiber to remove any residues of the stain as well as the cleaner. These cleaners were DESIGNED TO PENETRATE AND CLEAN SKIN.......and what is leather.....

NOTE: One must first ENSURE that the hand cleaner they choose DOES NOT HAVE PUMICE OR GRIT!!

NOTE2: Be prepared to have to clean the ENTIRE seat, as this will clean your "spot" so well, it'll leave a noticeable difference compared to the rest of the leather....as always, test in an inconspicuous spot first.

Do not go thru any car washes with brushes, self serve car wash brushes or dealer washes for your exterior and wipe the interior regularly with a vacuum and you will be good, mines has minimal swirls, that clear bra is a must, i didn't do it and wish i did 40k later.
