Question about steering wheel alignment.

I don’t have spare Maxima to compare it. But I have just noticed something odd regarding my steering wheel or steering wheel column cover. I drove this vehicle for 12k miles and just noticed it a few days ago and it kinda bugs me. I will try to explain as much as I can. I took a photo but on the photo the wheel is turn slightly to the right so it seems like it’s perfectly straight but in reality it’s not. Now do you see I have put the marks(this is where I’m noticing unalignment) if I put the wheel perfectly straight the wheel and steering column plastic will not be aligned from the right side. Now the car holds its lines, does not pull to the left or right. I’m just wondering if it’s mechanical or plastic cover went off a bit or it’s been like that all the time. Kinda strange to notice it now after 4 month of driving.

Thanks

I read your post twice and looked at photo but can't see what your problem is with wheel-to-cover alignment.

One part of the 4 wheel alignment is straightening out the steering wheel during the process. If it's bugging you that bad, get a lifetime alignment, worth it if you keep the car for more then 3 years. I get my car aligned with every tire rotation. It's free, get it done sometimes twice a year, and every time there's minor adjustments needed. Had a lifetime on the last 4 or 5 cars I've owned.

i tried to convince them to fix it and make it straight ,,, oh well most of them maxima and Murano's came out that way they said and there is no more perfection which i dont like but it still bothers me, what happened with yours finally ? did you have someone check it out for you ? did you get it fixed ?

Nope I learned to live with it. The other day not that long ago my friend was sitting at the back seat and he noticed all the way from the back that it isn’t straight. I couldn’t believe that he noticed that... I told him your angle of view from the back makes it look imperfect .
