DASH CAM Issue

Hi I have 2017 MAX. I was Trying to install dash cam with fuse tap.
My problem is none of my fuses power up the cam (either engine on and off)
Power socket slot did work for the first time but does not work after I swapped to another fuse slot and come back.
Cam does work with cigarettes jack.

Any Idea?

i’m guessing here... for the fuse tap, maybe the ground location was not good??

How about a mirror tap instead. I've got one for my radar detector. Turns it in and off automatically with ignition

Make sure voltage and amp are sufficient and constant.

The problem with cig lighter is that you need to use 12v adaptor to get 5v to power your dash and often time the cig lighter is lose or the adaptor you are using isn't strong enough to deliver a good amount of current. Best if you can tap in a fuse in the fuse box and get constant power. This should eliminate dash cam power related issue . But since your porblem is the opposite, i would recommend choose a fuse with 15amp and make sure to properly put two 15amp fuses in the fuse extension and get a dc to dc converter with at least 5v 3A output . Try this method.
