2017 Maxima Platinum SQ Stealth Audio System Upgarde
Nissan Maxima platinum which is fully loaded.. It came with the factory Bose 11- Speaker sound system. Decided to keep the amplifier system stock for now but add mono block amplifier to power the subwoofer. Goal was to retain as much cargo space as possible and keep everything looking oem. So decided on using all hybdrid Audio technologies Unity speakers for the dash, all doors and rear deck. Then the hybrid audio legatia L1 tweeters in the door sails. Then for subwoofer, stayed with the same brand and used the Clarus 10” subwoofer in a sealed fiberglass enclosure. To power the system the Arc Audio XDi 1100.1 Amplifier was used. Then used a Audio control LCi2 for signal from the oem system. So in all, a total of 12 speakers drivers were used in this install. All Speaker ohm loads are matched to the the oem amplifier. So there won’t be any lost in output like when using higher 4 ohms aftermarket speakers for the 6x9 woofers. The Bose oem are 2ohm Speakers. So 2ohm version was use to match the load from the Bose amplifier.
Since this build was focused solely on SQ audio performance, extra steps were taken to start with making the car as quite as possible deadening material to keep out outside noise and panels from rattling.

Dash, door, sail speakers replacements. Dash brackets made from abs to fit in existing oem mounting locations. F.A.S.T. Foam Rings were used to help inject the sound directly into the cars cabin.

Next, Sound Deadening in the trunk area was needed to keep from rattling. routing wires and amplifer install which will power the subwoofer. For now the Audio control LC2i line out Converter was used for signal from the oem Bose amplifier.

The sub enclosure build and installation. Same goal is to have a stealth look and incorporate design of the interior. The enclosure has a custom pressed grill to protect the subwoofer in the trunk. The enclosure grill cover can be removed for any maintenance to the sub when needed.

Fiberglass cavity is joined with the wooden trim bezel front side of the enclosure. Several layers of fiberglass resin with chop matt was used to build up the desired thickness of the enclosure. The enclosure was trimmed and sanded smooth using a few different body filters. The sprayed with black sealer paint to seal the wood and body work.

Now the enclosure installed in the driver side of trunk. As you can see, was able to retain most of all trunk space build the enclosure like this. The subwoofer is protected and hidden at the same time. For a great factory oem look. But with greater sound quality and output over oem Bose system.

Thanks, since this setup is on the higher end side of car audio equipment. Something like this expects to pay around $4K for a shop to do this. Using 11 higher-end speakers and sub with an amp ($2,500 for equipment)

Do you have a picture of which wires you got signal from for the rear speakers? Was it before amp? In trying to install lc2i and cant figure out where to get signal from I keep reading its before the Bose amp but dont know which wires
