Changing the wooden trim to silver - is it possible?

Hey guys. I have a 2017 Nissan Maxima Platinum and was thinking of doing some upgrading. Gonna get bigger wheels, and was thinking of also changing that wooden trim to the aluminum one that the SR trim has. Anyone know if its doable? Has anyone done this before?
Also a side question, would 19 or 20 inch wheels go alright with normal suspension that the Platinum version has? Or would I scrape the bottom of the vehicle every time I hit a bump on the road? Not sure how it works, just all the videos I have seen about Maximas with 20 inch wheels all sit very low, a lot less ground clearance.

Thank you in advance for any comments and/or suggestions.

It will be expensive you will have to buy all new door panels they don’t sell just the trim pieces I have checked into it because I have a scratch on my passenger door panel trim

I wasn't a big fan of the "wood" paneling either at first, now I hardly even notice it's there.

Seems that car makers have this preconceived notion that luxury means having wood trim somewhere in the cabin. Just be thankful they didn't get the bright idea to put a analog clock in there too.... I'm looking at you Genesis, blech

Out of your price range? the average maxima SL goes for $400 a month and the platinum goes for $500 a month, Lexus is not that expensive.

Get it wrapped in 5D Carbon fiber, if done right you won't tell it's a wrap.

Thats a great idea, thank you, never even thought about that. Do you think I would need to take off the wood trim in order to wrap it? Or just use hot air or some kind of glue to make the wrap stick to the surface? Im really new at this whole customizing a vehicle stuff, my last 3 cars I bought brand new from the dealership and never changed a single screw on them.

I see that 50k price tag and instantly think $800/month maybe I am mistaken

All depends on money factor, purchase price, and MSRP *coupled* with residual (for lease calculation, you can't outrun the sticker price).

Also taxes..

Nearly *every* manufacturer is frowning on leases right now, *especially* sedan leases.

We got our Pathfinder Platinum for $435 in December 2015 (zero down, none of that '$5000 due at signing nonsense'). Today? $550-600. And Georgia cut taxes on leases ("TAVT") in half.

Back on topic, I found this dash kit that changes all the things I want and more, do you think this would work better than wrap? Or is THIS also a type of wrap? https://www.carid.com/2017-nissan-ma...190489661.html

Looks like a Maxima from 1998 instead of 2018.

Just leave it the way it is and get used to it. Those cheap adhesive wraps will ruin your original trim.

It's a semi 3D stick on kit. It will look pretty good, but not great if scrutinized or if you are super picky. These types of kits were all that was available, until wraps came out and took over.

Tear it out and replace it with a long LCD display, then you can scroll a stock ticker, breaking news, or live stream from your favorite rogue twitter account

I was initially not happy with the plastic look of the trim in the Platinum. Even thought about steel wooling (000) off the gloss and putting on low luster wax. In the end, it's a lease car and I would get the resale whack at turn in. Best to let it ride as is

I have a 17 SV, installed VVivid brand black wood grain vinyl wrap over the stock silver panels on dash and doors. I purchased it from eBay, good price too. It turned out great and was easy and flexed very well. I didn’t have a heat gun but my gf’s hair dryer worked great lol. You will need to take the panels off, they can be little tricky to take off but be careful not to break plastic clips. I just used a pry tool n worked my way around. Spend maybe $20 all together for supplies, took me about a total of 2 hours to disassemble, cut vinyl, attach and install back. Worth it, but I may change it to something else in the near future. I also just installed 20” JNC 026

wheels and tires are 245/35/20. 8.5” wide. No rub and stock suspension, it actually looks like my back is lifted and makes my car look bigger. Plenty of clearance. Good luck!

Hi Wolfson,
Do you have pics of how to remove the interior trim to wrap? Or can you explain how to remove the pieces?
Thanks
