Have any of you had your head liner removed to fix something? How did it go? I need the liner removed to replace the sun roof shade.

 

Ours had a bad spot right at the front, fabric didn't go all the way to the edge, you could see the foam under it; could see it through the windshield on day one. Being a lease I didn't take any chances we brought it in right away for a repair. Only fix was to replace the entire headliner. They had to remove the front windshield as I recall...going back about 2 years ago, so I could be wrong. In your case they may just drop it and leave it in the car, then put it back up.
