LED Flasher module relay vs resistors

Installed LED’s in front turn signals and rear tail lights. Now dealing with hyper flashing issue. Anyone install the diode dynamics flasher module relay instead of the individual resistors to fix hyper flash? If so where Is the module located? Spent hours crouched under steering column but cannot locate.

Are you saying you installed the resistors and they still hyper flash? Or you are wanting to install the flasher module instead of the resistors? As a footnote, I have no experience with the module but the resistors worked like a champ in my last car.

Didn’t want to splice into wires so was looking for an alternative. Several car makers, mostly European, replace the flasher relay instead of installing resistors so was wondering if the same could be done on the maxima.

Gotcha. The Scotchlok that comes with the resistors are very simple and can be easily uninstalled with little to no damage to the wire crimped to. I can see how a module would be more simple I guess just not sure they offer those for these cars. Good luck.

. You guessed right Received confirmation from diode dynamics tech. 8th Gen maximas do not use modules, flashers are integrated into the BCM so load resistors are they only way to go. Appreciate your input will install with locking connectors. Do you recall which colored wires you tapped into?

I still don't understand why they can't incorporate the resistor into the bulb housing....just seems like every car needs the same resistance, just put it into the bulb circuit.

I’m with you. new cars should come fully integrated with LEDs to begin with

I don’t know which particular wires to connect them to on this car, sorry. I have yet to do this on this car. Soon though.

Im sure I’m late to your party, but the load resistor install is so damn easy. Just use the taps on either side. Polarity doesn’t matter with the two wire connection. It would matter if you had the 3 wire.

Just be sure to get good quality load resistors.

+1. Just did it finally last week and it’s foolproof. Like Max said, it’s a two-wire setup so you can’t go wrong. The 3-wire as mentioned would be a different story.
