Gas Range Mileage Indicator - Can it be turned off?

You know how in the bottom right corner in the vehicle information display screen (in the dash), it shows how many miles to empty? Is there any way to disable that? It literally gives me anxiety watching that number drop on a daily basis. I prefer just have the gas'ometer indicating where my tank is. The range just adds extra stress. I've scanned the manual and looked on YT and there's nothing. Why would Nissan do this to us?

I only like to use the range indicator when I know I'm low on gas and need to know exactly how many miles I can go to get to the nearest station. Otherwise, I don't want to see it lol.

Not that i know of. But understand that, just as you, personally, find that indicator annoying, I would venture to guess that most other people do want to have it there, by default (including me). I found it to be fairly inaccurate (it over-predicts), but still better than nothing.

My old vehicle allowed me to flip through the different gas mileage categories (range being one). It was never just on the dash as a default. Perhaps the "over prediction" is what's driving me nuts, b/c it's making me feel like I'm burning way more gas than I am? I just wish there was an option to flip it to another indicator, or just have it blank.

Fill the tank, reduce the stress.

Nothing gained by running your gas tank that low. Once mine hits the Half mark, I go ahead and fill up. The fuel range is going to vary based on your latest driving patterns - city/open road, lead foot vs feather foot.

I get a real thrill when the range increases as I drive; its like my car is making gas!
