Daytime running light issue

Hey all. New to the forum here. Just got my 2017 Maxima SL a couple days ago and I’m absolutely in love. I got a really good deal on it but it came with a few issues. I’m thinking the person who owned it before didn’t love it quite as much. Anyways...

I noticed that my drivers side DRL is out when the headlights are off. The passengers side operates at full power like it’s supposed to. But when the headlights are on, both DRLs work as they’re supposed to. Obviously it’s nothing major, but I’m a perfectionist and I’m wondering if there’s an easy fix. I was hoping that someone here could possibly...shed a little light...on the situation.

I know that DRLs on Maxima has two stages. When headlights OFF they work at full power. When headlights are ON they switch to low power.

So maybe relay/ fuse issue.

Thanks for your reply.

I saw in another thread that someone has a fuse in the fuse box under hood labeled DTRL, but unless there’s a second fuse box under the hood, I didn’t find any such thing. I also checked the fuse box in the car as well. Maybe I’m missing something?

So I just replaced the fuse, and the driver side still doesn’t work unless the headlights are on. So I guess I’ll have to bring it up with the dealer when I get my new tires on Monday. Thank you!

Same Issue

So I know this is a super late reply but if you are still around, do you remember what the issue was with the DRL? My 2016 just started having the same issue.
