2016 CVT good or bad?
yes two one at 60kish and another at 110,000. I'm considering doing a flush on the next one as that's what a different dealership is recommending.
Edit: 2nd one was done at 110,000. So I have about 23k miles since the last CVT change.

Just purchased a 2018 Maxima SL, traded in my Altima 2010 3.5 SR. At 87,000 miles, the Altima had no CVT issues at all. Keeping a close eye on the Maxima. So far haven't read any reports on CVTs failing on 2018s.
I had a 2014 Altima 2.5 SL, put 149,000 miles on it in less than 6 years. To the tune of 28,000 miles per year on it with a combination of city, highway, and country back roads driving. Did all the routine maintenance as required, and never had any issues whatsoever with the CVT.
I have 187k on my 2017 Maxima SR. I have changed the fluid 4-5 times so far. They recommended every 60k on mine but I did it around 40k. CVTs are super proned to go out. If you want them to cover it under warranty, i'd just do it as Im pretty sure the owners manual is every 60k.
That being said, I also did my Maxima CVT fluid at 40k and some dealers even recommend it at 30k intervals.
I did 40k interval for my 2010 Altima and that's still going strong at 150k+ and that CVT is known to implode

You're overdue. Most people and dealers do CVT flushes every 30k to 40k miles. It's not the same interval as a regular auto transmission.
The manual says to replace at 60k if you tow stuff or drive in especially dusty conditions. It's weird.

Yeah mine has been 95% interstate miles. Mine at 187k definitely has some more weird sounds than the normal cvt noise but overall I still drive it 5 days a week until my Tesla gets here since its paid off. I might be seeing my first hints of it going bad as it sounds like a bearing going bad in either the CVT or alternator. Overall the only thing I have done is replace the fluid and all 4 wheel bearings so its been solid.
Congrats on the Tesla! which one did you get?
Sadly unless Congress changes it Tesla no longer recieves the $7800 tax credit for EV since they have sold over 200k cars now.
As far as the maxima, Im leaning alternator going bad as I really havent seen any shifting issues or slipping.

Model 3 Performance, it just made since as I drive 120 miles roundtrip 5 days a week. Since the election Im averaging $480 a month in gas now and I average a $100 amsoil oil change every 2 months at 13k miles. Im projected to spend around $40 a month in electricity increase so most new car purchases don't make sense but this one does. No oil, no gas, no transmission etc.
