bose speaker replacement

I am trying to install aftermarket speakers on my 2016 maxima. Is there a post on this website with someone who has previously done so. This would be very helpful. Thanks.

Before you do this, check the speaker impedance ratings for the new speakers. As I recall the Bose units are different from most other speakers. I want to say the difference is substantial enough to blow the Bose amps. Perhaps an expert will chime in though I recall this being discussed on the site some years ago.

Factory speakers are 2 Ohm, which helps the weak Bose amp produce enough volume. To continue using the factory amp you need to replace the bad speaker with a 2 Ohm speaker.

I remember when I added a sub to Bose in my Altima back in 02 I had to do some research...I really had no Idea what I was doing, but got it done. I believe something called a High-Low converter was something I used to make it all work with the Bose amp
