Key System Error

Hi guys!

I got a "Key System Error See Owner's Manual" message while driving to work yesterday.

The message also came up on the drive home, so I switched key fobs last night, but the message persists driving to work today. Unfortunately the owner's manual was cryptic and useless. Has anyone has this error before, or have ideas on how to fix it? Would something like this be covered under a basic warranty? I'm starting to get nervous about this car if it's already developing problems with only 4 months/750 miles on it.

From the online owners manual page 2-30

Key System Fault See Owner’s Manual
After the ignition switch is pushed to the ON position, this light comes on for a period of time and then turns off. The Key System Fault message warns of a malfunction with the Intelligent Key system. If the light comes on while the engine is stopped, it may be impossible to start the engine. If the light comes on while the engine is running, you can drive the vehicle. However, in these cases, have the system checked. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.

This would be covered under your warranty.

Might want to also try replacing the key fob battery as well. When the error message pops up for me, I take it as the battery is becoming weak and not enough energy is sent to signal to the car.
