The Cube uses an entirely different model of the Jatco CVT than the 8th gen Maxima uses. It is much less "heavy-duty" than the Maxima CVT.

Here is my experience changing CVT fluid (Nissan NS-3) CVT filter and screen at around 40,000 miles.

Rick,

Thanks for the added info. I am a bit relieved our CVTs are more refined and must be more heavy-duty. My 2019 Platinum comes off lease in a few months and I will probably buy it as the residual buy-out is around $22,800. My CVT is performing quite well @ 32000 miles so I will get it serviced @ 40k.

I recently took my 17 Platinum in for service. I a bit over over 28,000 miles but the car will be five years old in February. So I asked them to perform service on the CVT. I did not see the video posted above before my service date.

The invoice showed a charge for CVT fluid and a charge for something called a CVT kit. The kit was about $30. I do not know what this kit is so I was wondering if anybody if this was for a new filter and/or cleaning of the pan.

Thanks.

You need to contact your dealer and ask "What is a CVT kit that I paid $30.00 for?"
