Trade In prices?

Anyone care to share the trade-in and retail prices for the 2016-2021 Maximas in your area? Next month I am buying out my 2019 34K mile loaded Platinum for $21900 plus tax. Just too good to pass up even if I sell it to Car max months later.

I sold my loaded '18 Platinum last May for almost $27,000. It had 32K miles on it.

I had bought out my lease for $22K in January '21 just before leaving Massachusetts. Once I got to South Carolina, I decided that I needed more flexibility to carry cargo, which is the only reason that I sold it.

Last oil change (month ago) I got an estimate just cause I was bored and my 2017 SL with 85k miles was worth 18.5k to them.

Last fall I was quoted $19,800 for my 2016 Platinum with only 47k miles....thought it should have been better.

The offer might be better now Pamb. The problem is replacing it with another car of inflated value.

You’ve got an online offer
To redeem, just bring your Nissan Maxima to any CarMax within the next 7 days.

Your Offer $23,600* Valid through Friday, 2/4/22

2017 Nissan Maxima SR 42500 miles...very good-excellent condition Super Black

If I weren't working from home permanently, I would consider selling but why???? I probably drive 500 miles per month now.... Paid off car, excellent condition, quick, good mileage, I'm good!!

That really sums things up well. Big trade in money but bigger cost to replace what is still a great car.

With the pandemic, and associated reduction in travel.... I’ve only got 30k miles after 4 years of driving this car. Still looks and drives great, I can’t see putting up for sale anytime soon

Glad you both like the look too!

No i didn’t buy it, it was a factory option. Maybe they can install it after market, I don’t know?

i Bought it at 8k miles, and was fortunate that it was fully loaded. At the time, those options would have put the price tag over 45k if I bought it new

Thanks for the info. Appears neccessary to buy new rocker panel at over Can$420, plus tax, plus install. I realy like the look, but not at that cost!

They are easy to install though you have to buy them already painted in your car color. I had them on both my 2016 and current 2019.

My 2019 Platinum Reserve was due to go back at the end of September. I had a lease broker write me a $4000 check to walk away from the lease free and clear. I was able to negotiate a deal $1k under sticker on a new G70 3.3t Sport Prestige. Don't sleep on Genesis if you're looking for a Maxima replacement.....this car is a BEAST

Nice deal I think. Would you check in now and then to give us "real world" driving details? I am curious about mpgs as measured at expressway speeds. The smoothness of this engine. Overall durability of the Hyundai...er Genesis. Does it have the low rpm torque we are used to with the Maxima (Part throttle without having to floor it to spool up the tubos.?) Is the back seat as cramped as it looks? In that sense I don't think the Max was much better. How does it handle in the snow?

MPG on the highway is slightly lower than I achieved in my Max, I'm getting around 23mpg. In my typical daily mixed driving I would get 15mpg in the Max and now I'm getting 13mpg. Alot of this i'm sure is due to myself having more fun with the extra power. There is certainly enough torque before boost to drive around comfortably, you don't necessarily have to wring it out all the time. The engine is silky smooth. Shifts like butter in comfort mode, sport/sport+ understandably more deliberate. Adjustable dampers are amazing. You can really dial the car into how you like to drive. The back seat is tiny, the car is effectively a 3 seater however, my maxima was the same way. I'm too tall for anyone to fit behind me anyway. I drove in about 2" of snow, I had no issues on stock A/S. Nothing about the car says Hyundai, the fit and finish is perfect and the interior materials are top notch. It really is an awesome car.

Thanks for the initial report on the G70. I like the redesign on the front end. For me, I have to decide if the extra 60-70 hp is worth the need to run premium and the noticeable loss of MPG. A neighbor of mine has the 4 cylinder G70 and it really needs to be coaxed with a high throttle effort to perform the result is very poor mileage. I do think Hyundai dropped the ball on the Genesis brand, having to go to the Hyundai dealers instead of like what Honda did with Acura. The G70 is well equipped and the extended warranty is quite a plus over the Nissan 36/60 coverage. I agree that the G70 rear seat is even about as useless as the Maxima.
Since I just bought out my 2019 34 K Maxima for $21900 I have the luxury of waiting and watching. Keep us posted on how the day-to-day driving is going with the G 70.

Ps Do people know the Genesis brand on the street yet?
